The so-called tagtool, customised software for the customer. The client manages a network of sites (among others, tagcity is part of it). The client wanted content to be added as quickly as possible so that its employees could spend their time productively.
Had to support multiple languages and similar formatted lists of data values for different operating systems (mac, windows) and domains, coming from completely separate websites. So this was a rather complicated letter.
Still, it should be possible to add data flawlessly and easily. Every second is one too many and nothing should be entered twice unnecessarily. After all, time is money.
Employees and their time are one of the most valuable, but also the most expensive resources I have. Having a tool that makes their work easier and faster was well worth the investment. After introducing the tool, they were certainly able to add 4-5 times more tags, on TagCity and have more time to work on their secondary tasks. During a transition period between media platforms, we were of necessity without the tool for a while and my staff begged me to get it back online as soon as possible.
Together with the client and its employees, we set out to find the perfect solution.
For example, translation is made easier by using AI and fields that are usually the same in every language, such as a date. The fields are automatically copied to the other language when you enter them for the first time.
The fact that multiple platforms were involved also posed a serious technical challenge. This ensured that code was always the same for both platforms and API ensured that data communication was always formatted correctly.
The tool also packed with time-saving features and is what can make work so much faster.
Such as both clickable and shortcut keys for the most frequently used phrases or words in a list.
One can type F1 to F12 to access the function keys that are always located below the tool with labels that can also be clicked.
Presets. Data that is the same for a given content type is always one click away and can be entered anywhere at once.
Autocomplete: this tries to guess what you type and does so intelligently by analysing the site content for the most relevant things, but suggests
This allows four tags to be sent in one minute in two different languages and on two (or more) different platforms.
